Sam Waller Museum showcases art exhibit

The Sam Waller Museum is currently showcasing an exhibit of local artist Frances Cooper. Fran is a Manitoba interdisciplinary artist who has been dreaming, creating and contributing to this Earth for over three decades. Her upbringing, formal education along with life experiences has shaped her work. She is interested in exploring the reciprocity elements of this Earth along with human interaction in her artwork. There are various layers of meaning for her; past, present and potential future; that link it all together to visually share her story and the human experience. Her work has been shown in group exhibitions at Mentoring Artists for Women’s Art, Northern Visual Arts Centre, Sam Waller Museum and various Northern Juried Shows.
Her values, principles and ideals connect to nature and the underlying harmonics of Mother Earth. This is the thread source for her ideas and art practices. She is fortunate enough to be able to draw from a variety of cultures, find the common ground use the symbolism to reach a broader audience with her art. She is interested in art that is thought provoking as well as enjoyable.
Sharain Jones, Museum Director of Sam Waller Museum, states “the exhibit has been well attended with many of the pieces having been sold already”. The exhibit will continue until September 30th and the public still has lots of time to come and view the exhibit and enjoy the rest of the museum.
