Opasquia School holds parade for students; staff

Last Friday, École Opasquia School staff took to the streets in a parade of cars. Our mission was to spread some smiles and cheer for our students and their families. Little did we know how emotional it would be and how full our own hearts would become!
We traveled through town, out to Valley View, Young’s Point, Batchelar Road, Carrot Valley, Rall’s Island, Umperville, Wally’s at Clearwater Lake and Wanless! Five hours, 150 km and worth every minute and kilometer!
Staff decorated their vehicles with chalk paint, window writers, balloons, streamers and signs. As we drove through our community honking our horns, students and their families were lining the streets with their own homemade signs, huge smiles, waves, dances and even some bubbles! As staff and students, this parade allowed us to come together while being apart.
To all the students and families of École Opasquia School, thank you for taking time out of your day to say hello! You brought sunshine to our day! We miss you!
