Giesbrecht named MJHL POW

The OCN Blizzard were in need of some improved goaltending and they got it this past weekend, an effort that seen a member of the club receive the first nod of approval from the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) towards the club this year.
Goaltender Noah Giesbrecht was in the zone this past weekend for the Blizzard, helping the club win all three games they played while putting some incredible numbers along the way. Giesbrecht posted a 1.67 goals against average and a .959 save percentage while winning all three games. The effort helped him earn player of the week honors.
The three wins brings OCN back into a tie at the bottom of the league standings but also just six points out of a playoff spot, helping to possibly salvage their season.
The 19-year-old Giesbrecht has all four wins for OCN this year, posting a 2.76 goals against average and a .936 save percentage on the season after being acquired from the Comox Valley Glacier Kings.
The runners up for the award are 20 year old forward Josh Tripp of the Swan Valley Stampeders and 17 year old forward Sheldin Howard of the Portage Terriers according to the MJHL.
