OCN Storm sign former assistant Fontaine as teams’ new Head Coach

Last Tuesday Marcel Fontaine accepted the position of Head Coach for the OCN Storm. Having been the assistant coach for the previous four years, Fontaine is going to be leading OCN in the upcoming hockey season.
“We’re really excited. Marcel has four years of experience as (an) assistant coach with me on the bench there. We’re definitely going in the right direction, Marcel’s a great hockey guy, he’s got a real good understanding for the game, good with kids and he’s excited about it too. All and all we’re super excited,” said Jeremy Hohn, General Manager of the OCN Blizzard.
Fontaine is also excited to be back coaching for the new season.
“Excited to be back in the coaching scene, I’ve accepted the Head Coach position for the OCN Storm Jr. B Hockey Club. Looking forward to the hockey season,” wrote Fontaine on social media on accepting the position.
It’s going to be a somewhat different season this year with half the league not playing as five teams in the south pulled out of the Keystone Junior Hockey League (KJHL) back in March, leaving five other teams left to play.
“I think it’s a disgrace. They tried to ignore the five teams in the north and they used excuses that we had all the answer to,” Hohn said.
Nonetheless the remaining teams will be playing this season and hoping another one is added soon.
“For now we’ll move forward with the teams in the KJHL, that’s Norway House, Cross Lake, Peguis, Fisher River and we’re hoping to add another team,” Hohn added.
So far no season schedule has been released as of press time.
