Trio arrested in Norway House drug busts

Police have made a pair of sizeable drug busts in Norway House.
The find occurred on August 6 when police executed a search warrant on a room in a hotel in the community at approximately 7:50 p.m.
According to the police, an unspecified amount of crack cocaine, oxycodone pills and cash were found in the raid.
That find resulted in the arrest of a 22-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, both of Winnipeg, who are slated to be facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
Two days later, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on August 8, a traffic stop was conducted in the community and that as well led to the seizure of cocaine and more cash, as well as some drug paraphernalia.
According to a police report, 81 grams of cocaine was found during the traffic stop.
As a result, a 28-year-old woman from Norway House was slated to be facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
According to the RCMP, the two drug busts do not appear to be related; however police are continuing to investigate.
