It was a very busy four days as 21 of us entered 26 activities. Five of us had more than one entry and the going was tough in several of the competitions.
The Games cover a wide variety of events, including various card games, five-pin bowling, floor shuffleboard, pickleball, horseshoes, golf, track, cycling, slo-pitch and many more. There is also an ice curling component, including stick curling and team curling; but due to early ice removal in Swan River, the curling dates are in March.
Swan River and the surrounding Valley were very hospitable and generous hosts for the 600+ athletes who were in their community for the 3-day event. There was also a variety concert and athlete celebration banquet and dance. Approximately 300 volunteers were on hand to make sure events ran smoothly.
In total, there were 21 Norman West participants picking up 40 medals.
