Annual trade show aims to highlight local business products

The Pas & District Chamber of Commerce played host to a plethora of businesses and organizations last week at their annual Trade Show.
The show is an opportunity for businesses and organizations in the community to let the public know what products and services they offer, all in a one-stop shopping way.
“What we really encourage is our local business community to take part. It’s three days where residents in the community can come to one location and check out the variety of products and services the community offers,” Jenn Cook, Chamber Office Manager commented.
Cook added that while there are out of town “niche” trades people that do the “trade show circuit”, the majority of exhibitors this year were local.
“It’s extremely exciting to see our local business and organizaitons support the Chamber of Commerce at the Trade Show,” she said.
The trade show is the single biggest fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce and without the support of exhibitors it just would happen.
“This year was a nice blend of local and out of community vendors. Last year and again this year we have had the highest percentage of local vendors taking part in the trade show and it is a pleasure seeing our members and other local businesses appreciating the value the trade show has to attract new customers and highlight their products to a new segment of the community,” Chamber President Trent Allen commented.
“The trade show is our largest fundraiser throughout the year. The financial benefits it brings to The Pas & District Chamber of Commerce allows us to do a lot of the great work we do throughout the rest of the year, like our upcoming community cleanup that’s scheduled for May 25th,” he added.
The Trade show saw 2200 people through the doors over the three days.
