Fire Department hosts open house for community

This week is Fire Prevention Week which historically has been observed since the early 20th century in Canada and the United States. On Tuesday evening The Pas Fire Department celebrated the occasion by holding an open house at the fire hall, including a live demonstration showing how quickly a fire can spread.
Kids and their families who attended were shown the different firefighting equipment that the firefighters use, vehicles such as the fire trucks, and they also talked about fire safety.
Also present at the open house was the Red Cross and members of other emergency services.
The theme for this year’s Fire Prevention Week was Look. Listen. Learn. Be Aware, Fire Can Happen Anywhere.
