Garrison Settee elected as new MKO Grand Chief

This week at the Kikiwak Inn on Opaskwayak Cree Nation (OCN) the Manitoba Keewatinwoi Okimakanak (MKO) held its 37th Annual General Assembly as well as holding an election during which the Pimichikamak (Cross Lake) candidate Garrison Settee was elected as the new Grand Chief of MKO.
There were only two candidates during this election the other being York Factory First Nation candidate Ted Bland, Settee won 53 votes while Bland took 36 of the vote with a total of 89 votes overall.
