Dewar makes CSB rankings

The Pas local Connor Dewar has made the final rankings for the NHL’s Central Scouting Bureau (CSB) for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft.
Dewar was ranked 80th amongst North American skaters for the 2018 NHL Entry Draft which is slated to be held on June 22 and 23 in Dallas, Texas.
This is the second time Dewar has been eligible for the draft. He was first eligible last year but went unclaimed. He later attended a rookie camp with the Toronto Maple Leafs but did not sign a contract.
Dewar did not make the final CSB rankings in 2017 however, and players who are beyond their first year of eligibility tend to not be ranked, making Tuesday’s ranking all the more impressive for Dewar.
Dewar has had a breakout year in his third season with the Western Hockey league’s Everett Silvertips. The 5’10, 170 lbs. forward posted 38 goals and 68 points in 68 games this season and so far in the playoffs he has increased his output, notching four goals and 13 points in 10 games.
Over three seasons with Silvertips, Dewar has amassed 211 regular season games, scoring 63 goals and 116 points while also picking up 16 points in 29 playoff games.
A total of 210 players will be selected in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
