Early afternoon blaze destroys home; The Pas Fire Department is investigating

A fire broke out Monday afternoon in a home on Taylor Avenue.
The fire was reported at 12:46 p.m. and when fire crews arrived on scene smoke could be seen emanating from within the small home located on the 700 block of the street.
After battling the fire for over two hours the fire was extinguished. The home was still standing after fire crews had finished working on the fire however the extent of the damage caused was not available.
Randy Manych, Acting Fire Chief for The Pas Fire Department, stated he was unable to provide comment on the fire as of press time as the investigation into the cause had only just begun. There were no reports of injuries as of press time.
The fire is one of only a few that has been reported so far in 2018. This comes in stark contrast to 2017, when numerous high profile fires struck The Pas and surrounding area.
