After a long break in December and January, the Home Routes Concert Series is finally making a comeback next week, as hailing from Winnipeg is the next performer Del Barber, a folk-country singer who sings with Canada at his heart.
Having published five albums over his career Barber sings with that roots spirit that brings together everyone under one roof in song and exultation, according to Barber’s website, delbarber.com.
His first album was released in 2009 titled Where the City Ends, following that up in the next year with Love Songs for the Last 20, then Headwaters in 2012. Prairieography came two years later and most recently in 2016 he released The Puck Drops Here. All of these albums you can check out on iTunes, or his website, and the final two albums can also be purchased on Amazon.ca.
Barber is not done making albums yet though as he will be launching a new album -the title of which has not yet been announced- this year in 2018. While it’s yet to be released, some of the songs on this album can be seen during the Home Routes Concert.
Accompanying Barber is guitarist Grant Siemens, who according to homeroutes.ca has spent the previous 14 years travelling the world and playing alongside many different artists like Tom Russel, Buddy Miller, Brent Mason, and Feist, among several others.
Before coming to The Pas they are expected to perform in various locations in Saskatchewan. The day before they come to The Pas they are expected to play in Swan River, and after the performance in The Pas, it’s off to Flin Flon and Cranberry Portage, before heading back to Saskatchewan.
There is much to look forward to in next week’s Home Routes Concert Series performance. It will be taking place at The Pas Regional Library Annex, the doors open at 7:00 p.m. with the concert set to begin at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available for purchase at the at The Pas Regional Library.
