MJHL releases schedule for 2017-2018 hockey seaso


The Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) recently released the hockey schedule for the 2017-2018 regular hockey season, and it will be like many previous seasons, kicking off in late September going through winter into February.
The OCN Blizzard’s first game is up against the Waywayseecappo Wolverines here at home on September 22, and then it’s up against the Swan Valley Stampeders the next day, then the Dauphin Kings the following week. After that OCN’s first games on the road are two games against the Selkirk Steelers in Selkirk.
In October OCN will be facing off against the Steinbach Pistons, Winnipeg Blues, the Virden Oil Capitals, Neepawa Natives and the Portage Terriers for 12 games, five of which are here at home.
It’s another 12 games in November as OCN faces off against Swan Valley again, then the Winkler Flyers, Portage, Dauphin, Waywayseecappo, Virden, and Selkirk. Six of these games are here at home and the other six are on the road.
Following that in December there are nine games starting off with two home games against Steinbach, then it’s on the road for games against Selkirk, Steinbach again, Portage and Winkler in Winnipeg, after that it’s back home for games against Selkirk.
After the Christmas break in January there are 10 games, half of which are here at home, and it’s against Portage, Swan Valley, Steinbach, Winnipeg, Dauphin, and Waywayseecappo.
February there is a total of 12 games with six taking place here at home, the games are against Neepawa, Winkler, Dauphin, Waywayseecappo and Swan Valley.
Unlike last season there will be not be a stretch of nearly two months straight on the road which occurred between November and January in the 2016-2017 season. This year the longest stretch of road games will be four in a row, which will happen twice, while the longest run OCN will have a t home is also a four game span.
